" Finding my feet, post-divorce, turned into a peculiar adventure. As a retiree, I stepped into a ballroom dancing class. It was my first time, leaving behind my paint brushes for dancing shoes. I took a leap—or a step?—into the unknown. This journey started spontaneously, with a desire to broaden my life's strokes through ballroom dancing. My rhythm was once just in my brush strokes and toe-taps, but I was eager for a new challenge.
Each dance lesson filled me with more confidence. I found myself moving with the music, not against it. Finally, I was flowing with life, learning grace and humor through ballroom dancing. "
" On my first night at the ballroom dancing class, my every step felt unsure. I saw my reflection in the mirrors, magnifying mistakes. However, among the missteps, there was laughter. Everyone, including me, tripped over their feet in their own ways. We celebrated small steps forward, discovering grace and rhythm together."
" My family immediately noticed a change in me, especially my daughter. We shared moments from my dance floor adventures via calls and messages. My artwork has also transformed, reflecting the joy from this new journey. Ballroom dancing teaches life lessons, including elegance and humor in every turn and step. "
Stepping into the dance community brought support and encouragement. The celebration of every dance progress, whether a new step or rhythm, was palpable. This sense of belonging taught me to embrace imperfection and value personal growth. It inspired a similar mindset towards life.
The joy from dance paintings has found its way into my art. My paintings now exhibit vibrant colors and energy, mirroring my experiences. This new creative spark highlights my emotional and physical journey through the art of ballroom dancing.
